COSTS

see also Billing Policy

It is the policy of this practice that the doctor attempts to give information as to potential costs prior to treatments, investigations and procedures being performed in the practice.

The consultation fees and the billing policy of the practice are displayed in the waiting room and similar information is in the Practice Information sheet.

Where Medicare and Veteran Affairs apply this practice will bulk bill providing the patient presents an in date relevant card.

If patients are unable to provide a current card, they will be required to pay the full appropriate fee for their service. Payment is due at the time of consultation.

Payment for services not covered by Medicare or Veteran Affairs are to be paid on the day of consultation. Acceptable payment methods are cash, cheque, credit card (Mastercard, Bankcard, Visa or AMEX) and EFTPOS.

Accounts may be issued for Workers Compensation, Insurance and at the Doctors or Practice Managers discretion only.

When patients are referred to external health services the doctor will inform them that there may be extra charges for such services. The patient should also be encouraged to ask about charges and payment requirements for these services when they make their appointment.
