THIRD PARTY CONSENT including Students

  Consent must be obtained from the patient before a third party can be present at a consultation. This includes Medical Students, other Doctors and Practice Nurse.

Consent from the patient must be obtained diplomatically and not in earshot of other patients in the waiting room or the Third Party . Patients must have the opportunity to refuse if they so desire.

The patient must feel comfortable with a third person present at the time of consultation.

If there is a training doctor in the practice  a notice is put in the waiting area advising patients that this is happening in the practice.
